Wow. What a dining experience. The Dining Room is set in book cases full of case law books and stained glass windows. The food was amazing. I had a salad, chicken with potatoes and asparagus and dessert. Food was amazing. Service was amazing. Have to say this is one of Toronto's hidden dining gems. Was my first dining experience here and wont be my last.

Opened for lunch on the weekdays with a 23 three course prix fixe that changes daily and minor changes to the a la carte menu. Had to clear security (x-ray machine metal detector) to enter Osgoode Hall and then there was signage pointing to the restaurant. It was a quick and painless process. On the day me and my friend, the prix fixe menu was a beef croquette with pear chutney, chicken breast, and an apple cake. The day before it had grilled octopus. It was delicious and the portion sizes were just right! My friend had the steak frites, which seems to be a staple of the menu, is served with lots of fries! We also got two pieces of complimentary bread each. Service was excellent from the moment we walked into the restaurant to the moment we walked out. There was no waiting to be greeted or calling for your bill and each course came out fast. They treat you like royalty basically. The line of stained glass windows and bookshelves of law books was really something and most of the waiters had a french accent, it felt like we had left Ontario and went to France for lunch. It was simply an amazing lunch. Although the restaurant never filled to capacity during our hour there (12 to 1), they do recommend a reservation and this can be made through OpenTable. Will definitely be back in the future to show off this gem to friends

Food was very excellent. I had a three course meal. Salad was standard, the main was delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly, I'm not sure what was in the potatoes but they were amazing and the vegetables were carrots and something else still very tasty. For dessert I had carrot cake which was very good. They are not large portions however for a lunch they are perfect. Prices were reasonable. I liked the atmosphere the only thing I would remind people is that it is in a law/court building so you do have to pass through metal detectors. Really though that added to the experience for me.

Always excellent. Good value (25 specials with app, main of the day, and dessert), delicious food, great service. The quiche is excellent with a crispy flakey crust and the pasta is silky with great flavour in the sauce. Stewart is the best server. The atmosphere is also amazing with vaulted ceilings and law history all around.

It is one of those hidden places in Toronto that you don’t want other to know and keep it to yourself, and known to the lawyers and judges for years. Located in a beautiful old library with great food and friendly staff, great place to enjoy the holidays. It is our annual tradition to go for lunch in December...

Toronto's secret lunch spot, this superlative restaurant in Osgoode Hall serves up excellent food from 12 to 2, weekdays only, closed during the summer. You'll have to go through airport -style security (leave your pocket knife at home) and follow a maze of halls to find the place, but it's worth the hassle. The airy room is lined with law books and soaring stained glass windows. Many of the other diners at the white-covered tables are lawyers in the robes: it feels like a private club, but one that welcomes the public. The food is excellent and very well-priced for such high quality. Service is professional and genteel. Prix-fixe three course lunch especially recommended. Call ahead for reservations. Wheelchair accessible.

If you want to enjoy a special lunch in a very unique setting, this is the place! Think of the Hogwarts dining hall, panelled walls, high ceiling, intricate stained glass windows, huge portraits hanging on the walls and lots of books. It's beautiful and a little staid like a lovely library! They change the menu daily (we opted for steak frites, rather than the pan seared halibut or gouda quiche) and food was very tasty. Service was peculiar with a lovely, well meaning elderly gentleman but it kind of added a little charm, like a character in a movie. Tip: make a reservation and know you must go through a metal scanner to gain entry to the building (nothing invasive but just allow an extra couple of minutes if it's busy). Would definitely go again. Very unique and fun!
